FAQ's

What time do the gates open?
Gates open at 3:30pm and the music starts at 4:10pm.

How much are tickets?
Tickets are $40, but presale tickets are only $25 through 7/10/09. So get them early!

What is the closest city?
The park is located about 5min away from Cumberland, MD, providing lots of overnight and dining options.

What are my overnight options?
We have lots of different options for where you can sleep - camping, cabins, resorts, hotels. Please click here for more details.

Will camping sell out?
The park offers a great deal of camping options, however it is first come, first serve. So get there early on Saturday to get the perfect spot - and the ones that offer electricity will definitely be the first to go! Again, booking for campsites is done directly through the park upon arrival. The festival is not responsible for reserving campsites. Visit the park's website.

Will hotel rooms sell out?
We strongly recommend that you make your hotel reservations as soon as possible. October is an extremely busy time for hotels in this area, and both hotels we've made deals with can only offer a certain amount of rooms. There are a number of other places to stay in Cumberland, but again, we can't guarantee that they'll have rooms. So make your plans in advance! Click here for lodging info.

Where do I park?
Parking is available right across the street from the festival grounds. Parking attendants will be on hand to direct you.

Are dogs allowed?
Although we'd love to have a plethora of man's best friends running around, unfortunately dogs are not allowed onto the festival grounds.

Are food and beverages served?
We will offer a large selection of food, soda, beer and wine available for purchase. But bring your ID because alcohol will only be served and consumed inside a beer tent, and you'll need an ID showing you're over 21 to enter.

Can I bring my own cooler?
We promise to serve you the very best food and drinks, so we ask that you do not bring your coolers onto the festival grounds. However you can keep whatever you want at your campsite so feel free to bring buckets of Ramen Noodles or any other fine dining for the afterparty!

Is smoking allowed?
There will be a designated area for smoking. We ask that you only smoke within this specific area.

What sort of facilities are available at the festival?
The festival grounds have both portable toilets and a few permanent bathroom stalls. The camping loops have bathrooms and hot/cold showers…and the resort has a spa!

Is there an ATM at the festival?
Sorry, no ATM on the park grounds. The closest ATM is in Cumberland, a 5min drive away. If you run out of cash, you may have to resort to the bartering system so bring extra packs of cigarettes and hershey's chocolate.

Can I take pictures, or record video?
Of course…and if you do, we'd love to see them! However all picture taking and filming must be ONLY for personal use and may NOT be sold or broadcast without express written consent from the performers and the festival organizers.

If I don't pre-purchase a ticket can I still buy a ticket at the door?
If the festival doesn't sell out, we will be selling tickets at the door. However the price will go up, so save some money and buy them now!

What happens if it rains…or snows?!
This festival is a rain or shine event, all ticket sales are non-refundable. So keep an eye on the forecast and come prepared!

Since it's a long weekend (Columbus Day) is there anything to do at the park if we decide to stay an extra day or two?
There's tons of stuff to do at Rocky Gap State Park! There's canoeing, kayaking, fishing, horseback riding, hiking, rock climbing, the list goes on and on! For more info, check out the park's website and Rocky Gap Resort's Activities page

Can I volunteer at the festival?
Yes, please, we'd love to have your help! Just email us at info@sunflowerfest.net
