FAQ's
If
you don't see your question here, please email
us here and we'll be happy to satisfy your quizzical mind.
Why
is the event ticket only $25 compared to the usual $100+ price
of recent years?
We've
take into account the fact that the economy has hit everyone hard,
so this year we have made it a point to keep ticket costs down
to a minimum. By teaming up with Stout NYC, we were able to host
the event in a large and classy venue without shouldering the
usual excorbitant fees of building rental, catering, staging,
insurance, security, staffing and more. We have also pulled back
on the light food fare and made the Masquerade a cash bar event
in order to let you decide how much you want to spend on New Year's.
Why
is The Masquerade in Manhattan this year instead of Washington,
DC?
2
reasons: first, we would like the Masquerade to be a moving event,
especially since many of our revelers are from all over the hemisphere;
second, New York City is the center of the world's New Year's
Eve party!
Is
there a maximum capacity for the event?
Yes
- in order to assure comfort for all revelers, we've decided to
cap capacity at 800, after which no revelers will be admitted.
Advance ticket purchase will assure that you will have a reserved
spot at the ball.
How
do I go about getting tickets for the event?
Tickets
go on sale at 12pm on Nov. 1st. How fast they sell out
is anyone's guess, so try to secure them right away for peace
of mind. The best way to get tickets is by ordering online through
our safe and secure online "Click n' Print" ticketing
agency. You can also call and order over the phone at 800.595.4849.
Just be sure to mention the "Mad, Mad, Masquerade."
Tickets will be on sale online until 11:59pm, Dec. 30th.
After that, all purchases will have to be made at the door. All
purchases are final and non-refundable.
Will
my ticket be mailed to me?
Through
the click and print feature, you can conveniently print your ticket
at home and bring it with you to the event. If you prefer to have
your tickets mailed to you, you can choose that option at the
time of purchase and it will be mailed to you at an additional
expense. Printing at home is definitely the most cost effective.
Deadline for tickets by mail is Dec. 17th. Event admittance will
be conducted via scanners, which will eliminate any registration
lines so that you can get to your revelry sooner. There will be
will-call for those who ordered via phone.
I'm
from out of town - can I get to the Ball conveniently using public
transportation?
Because Stout NYC is located in the center of town, public
transportation abounds. You can catch a train to Penn Station,
half a block away. And if you're taking the Bolt Bus, it drops
you off at right in fron of Stout. And of course there's always
the subway to the Penn Station stop.
Is
this a black tie event only?
No,
the Masquerade is black-tie optional, though we strongly encourage
you to dress to the nine's, whether in costume or black-tie -
definitely be sure to bring a mask. Over 800 people dressed and
masked creates quite the party atmosphere!
What
time do the doors open?
Doors
open at 8:00pm.
How
late does the event run?
The
event goes until 4am.
Is
there open bar?
In
order to bring down ticket costs, we've decided to let you be
in control of your purse strings. This means that it's a cash
bar scenario, although a complimentary champagne toast is included
in the ticket price.
Will
I see a spider monkey riding on a rhino's back?
No.
That's a stupid question. How in blazes did you get into the FAQ's?
What
time should I arrive?
Ah,
the age old dilemma: Doors open at 8:00pm. Its up to you how much
bang for your buck you want to get from this sumptuous event.
What
do I do for parking?
In
addition to street parking, there are public parking lots available
in several proximate locations. But if you ask us, we'd suggest
public transportation.
Will
there be coat check?
Yes,
there will be a coat check.
How
much can we expect to see the Scythian lads playing?
This
year Scythian will be playing 2 long sets so there will be plenty
of music to throw bar stools to.
