Contemporary Folk
Album of the Year!

2007 Celtic Radio Music Awards - Scythian's new album Immigrant Road Show is one of the four featured releases on CelticRadio.net which is now accepting nominations for the 2007 Celtic Radio Music Awards. Scythian is still considered a new up and coming band, so we need your help to let the Celtic music world know that they are a legit contender on the music scene. Cast your vote and hopefully this year the boys will be bringing home the trophy! (If you're into celtic music, then CelticRadion.net is a great resource for finding new stuff).

New T-Shirt line unveiled - Mikey'O and Dan from Scythian have just released their new T-Shirt line: Drummers' Rights. Drummers bring the thunder, keep the beat steady and yet they have to sit behind some guitar player and take back stage: drummers don't get enough respect! This edgy new tee comes just in time for autumn so be sure to visit the Store and pick up a shirt to let your local drummer know that out of site does not mean out of mind.

Immigrant Road Show Reveiwed in the Post! - Scythian's new album "Immigrant Road Show" is reviewed in the Weekend Section of the Post. See what The Washington Post has to say about the new album!

Scythian makes a splash at Grassroots Festival of Dance - Scythian only had a Friday afternoon set at the Grassroots Festival of Dance in Trumansberg NY, but they sure made an impression. See what the Ithaca Journal had to say. Also watch the video of the record setting legkick chorus line.

New Scythian E-Card - The lads have finally done it! They bit the bullet and let the seeds of "grass-roots" fly into the abyss of cyber-space. Now you can tell your friends about Scythian without actually having to talk to them: you can send this a snappy Scythian E-Card. All you have to do is come up with something witty to say about the band and invite your friends and co-workers to view the following link: www.scythianmusic.com/ecard/index.html. Thanks for the support!

Scythian on MySpace - Yes, its true, Scythian has succumbed to the MySpace craze and has a profile on MySpace.com. If you have an account on MySpace, we invite all of you to "be our friends". (This kinda feels like being in kindergarten again). We're also asking for help on MySpace to spread the word about Scythian. If you so feel inclined, it would be dope if you told your MySpace friends to check out our stuff. Just go to the Music section and search for "scythian" and we should be there. There you can hear streaming audio of some of our songs and soon we'll be posting a video.

We're in the Washington Post Express!

Extra, extra, read all about it! Scythian wins a WAMMIE!

It was just announced that Scythian is the winner of the 2006 WAMA "Fan Favorite Award" (Washington Area Music Award). The fellas couldn't be more proud since this means Scythian is the most popular band in DC, i.e. has the best fans in the world. We couldn't have won without you - literally - and that's why this award means so much to us! Once a troop of humble street performers, Scythian now finds itself in the company of other WAMMIE winners such as Fugazi, Mary Chapin Carpenter, Chuck Brown and Seldom Scene. The "Fan Favorite Award" is about as grass-roots as it gets, so thank you, thank you, thank you - you're the best!!!

Scythian booked at world's largest festival - Scythian landed the crown jewel of festivals by being booked at this years 40th Anniversary of Summerfest Milwaukee. The fellas turned some heads last year at the Milwaukee Irishfest and landed an evening slot on the Harley Davidson as one of the opening acts for GUSTER. The show was spectacular and Scythian turned the heads of Guster fans and Guster alike. Check out the pics here.
