Scythian Bars

Fado Irish Pub (Washington DC) - Fado is a second home to Scythian. Every Thursday, the Lads come to Fado and do their best to claim Thursday night as the official start of the weekend. So far they've been successful with 200-300 people attending every week. These people in turn tell their friends and so Scythian Thursday's at Fado have become a DC tradition. Fado's atmosphere is unmatched with beautiful artwork and furniture and a menu which has the lads looking forward to Thursday. So if you're in the mood for good food and good music, make a night of it and head down to Fado. Directly across from the Gallery Place/Chinatown Metro. Visit website here. Sample a Fado Show.

Stout NYC - Located in Manhattan, just half a block from the garden, this brand new pub is a giant and has spared no expense. The 23,000 SF on three levels will blow the customer away with elegant rooms and cozy corners. The twenty-four foot ceilings house one of the widest varieties of beers (on-tap and bottled) found in a pub anywhere. Stout is brand new and has picked Scythian to be their band. Since July 2005, Scythian been at the pub once a month. If you're ever in New York City, you'll have to check this place out! Website here | Sample a Stout Show.

Brittingham's Pun (Lafayette Hill PA) - Brittingham's is Scythian's favorite Philly bar and they come back every six weeks or so. Built in the 1750's the pub has a feel which just can't be duplicated. Everything from the dark wood to the smoked beams speaks of a history of good times & good people. Its no wonder that Brittingham's makes for a great Scythian venue. Brittingham's is cozy and only fits so many, so be sure to call ahead and make reservations. Website | Sample a Brittingham's Show.

Flanagan's Harp & Fiddle (Bethesda, MD)- Flanagan's is Scythian's "home bar". This is where they started and they love coming back due to the real "Cheers" like atmosphere. Here you'll find a core of regulars, a great menu and an Irish wait-staff that gives Flanagan's a character which is hard to duplicate. Flanagan's is also known for its commitment to booking good live music. There you'll find acts ranging from Celtic, to Reggae and Blues. Visit website here. Sample a Flanagan's Show.

Mick O'Shea's (Baltimore) - Scythian's only Baltimore venue, Mick O'Shea's has become an event rather than a show. Regulars and newbies alike pour into the split-level bar and stage "sound battles" between the high & mighty "upper deck" and the notorious "pit". Known for its great food and authentic atmosphere (pub built c. 1840) Mick's is a perfect place to catch Scythian at its rowdiest. Website. Sample a Mick O'Shea's Show.

Thumbs Up Section - Companies Scythian Recommends

Web Design - Veraprise has been a huge help in putting Scythian's snappy website together. It developed the photo gallery, the gig calendar and has helped with countless other aspects of the site. Best of all, all of this was done pro-bono by Veraprise just to help us out. So besides being excellent web developers, they're great guys to boot! Visit site here.

Wedding Photography - Paul Haring is Scythian's recommendation for any weddings, barmitsvas or parties they play. Besides being a long time friend, Haring's work is outstanding and reflects the time he put in as an army photographer and later as a newspaper photographer. Check out his website where you can see extensive samples of his work. We've played at weddings where Paul was the photographer and can say he's the type of guy you hardly notice is there.

Philadelphia Realtor - Good friend Mike Wallacavage was actually the one who convinced Scythian to come play in Philly and told them about the auditions that eventually landed them a spot in M. Night Shyamalan's movie - The Village. If you're looking for an honest realtor Leks and Danu have known Mike over 20 years and can vouch for the guy. A man with boundless energy and enthusiasm as well as a passionate love for historic Philly, Wallacavage can give a buyer the pros and cons of every living area as well as details on the historic value of perspective homes. His personal love for Philadelphia and its surrounding towns is what inspired Mike to pursue realty (not vice versa) and his knowledge of the area has caused "scout locators" from the TV Series "Hack" as well as a M. Night Shyamalan locator to approach Mike for tips. For more info visit Mike's site here.

Scythian's favorite burger joint - If Scythian is ever within 30 miles of Front Royal, VA it almost invariably finds itself hunkering down at Spelunker's. Leks & Danu are huge fans of In-N-Out Burger on the West Coast, but do declare that Spelunker's may taste better. A husband & wife team opened up the joint in hopes of make darn good, fresh burgers and by gum they've succeeded. Spelunker's has become a pilgrimage spot for others besides Scythian. If you stop in, you may find yourself sharing a table with a thu-hiker on the Appalachian Trail looking for some tasty vittles.
